We would like to introduce you to a new thing in Norton Shores, 100.9 LPFM. Commercial free and listener supported. For the past five years WMBC 100.9 Norton Shores has been broadcasting quality music and audio broadcasts that were heretofore rebroadcast-ed from a satellite orbiting the Earth. Although the content was great and well worth listening to, the amount of LOCAL content was limited. The station manager, realizing this, was interested in finding a local group that would assume programming responsibilities.  At the same time, a newly formed organization, Muskegon Community Radio, was 5 years along in trying to develop a local FM radios presence. An agreement was hammered out between the two companies and as of May 15th, 2008, the programming format changed to reflect local interests. In the early weeks, there will be primarily music only. Trying to find a balance of programming that would be consistently interesting and entertaining. As we go forward, the addition of news, weather, local events and more will begin to prevail.
